Artist's Comments

Although the lens is slightly smudged, I think the angle and light in this picture passes the quality in importance, if only slightly.

This is a kinetic scuplture, named 'Spirit Catcher', that stands in Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie, Ontario. It was originally installed in False Bay, Vancouver.

The artist's name is Ron Baird, and this piece was created in the wake of Expo '86.

The blade-like arms sway and swing in the breeze on a windy day; it's really quite a sight. Kinetic sculptures are notoriously mind-blowing.
